Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – Impressive with Nostalgic Style
If you are bored with epic graphics titles, then Nintendo’s new game Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will take us back to the scene 100 years ago, with a nostalgic game style.
On November 20, 2020, after a long wait, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was officially released on the familiar Nintendo platform. Before that, the publisher released the game’s final full trailer.
Breath of the wild 100 years ago
Anyone who has played Nintendo is sure to know the legendary series The Legend of Zelda. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity content will be 100 years prior to the 2017 Breath of the Wild release.
Although the main character is still a brave Link warrior, players can choose to incarnate in many other characters, experience the story under many angles such as Princess Zelda, Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa. Through the game, we will have the opportunity to penetrate and explore deeper into the legendary world of Zelda, and at the same time explain many details that appear in other game versions of the series.
Content of Hyrule Warriors is both familiar and new
As mentioned above, the setting in the game is the world of Hyrule and the main character, the warrior Link. In this version of the game, the game developer is still Koei Tecmo of the Hyrule Warriors in 2014. So the game still retains the same characteristics, color, atmosphere and “quality” as before.
With a part of Vietnamese gamers, especially young players, Hyrule Warriors may not be a familiar name. But if you want to get used to the content and gameplay of the game, it’s extremely simple. It has a very similar gameplay to Dynasty Warriors – Three Kingdoms that are extremely popular and famous in our country. These are 2 games of the same “mother” Koei Tecmo.
The basic gameplay of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is 1 versus thousands of Hack & Slash gameplay. Our main task is simply to destroy all enemies on the way. In order to be more challenging and less boring, in the process of playing, gamers will have to solve puzzles and reasoning in some stages. The characters in the game are still familiar names in the history of Zelda games, so we are not “surprised”.
Is Age of Calamity a test for BOTW2?
Like Link, Zelda is also a powerful warrior with many natural abilities, but instead of using swords and shields like the goblin, the princess’s powerful weapon is her magic and knowledge. Therefore, it is quite obvious that Zelda was chosen as a playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. It must be added that earlier in the first version of the Hyrule Warriors, the player had the opportunity to use Zelda, but the content of that game had no relation to the BOTW. Thus, it can be said that this is the first time that fans will be able to control the warrior princess in a game related to the main timeline of the series. According to the author, this is most likely a test of Nintendo when they use Age of Calamity as a measure to see how fans will receive if they are officially controlled Zelda in BOTW2.
